Viral Doshi completed his schooling from The Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai. Subsequently he finished his ‘A’ levels from England and graduated in engineering from Cornell University, USA in 1981.
After spending his initial years in the banking industry in the US followed by a stint in setting up a super alloys manufacturing unit near Mumbai he made a career switch eighteen years ago to follow his passion of helping young people access opportunities for higher learning and choose their optimal career paths. This was the birth of Viral Doshi Associates a company which he founded and which today provides, students in the age group of 14-25 a comprehensive portfolio of services ranging from psychometric testing and mentoring to career and college planning. He operates out of Mumbai and has offices in Dubai, Singapore, London and New York.
He is also an advisor to several educational institutes in India and overseas and is on the board of the Tata Trust Education Committee and NDTV. He writes regularly on careers and education for magazines, newspapers and online portals and is also a regular speaker at schools, colleges, conferences and conducts workshops and seminars at YPO, FICCI and EO chapters nationwide.
An active member and ex-President of the Cathedral Alumni Association, he also co-authored a coffee table book – “Undefiled Heritage– a History of the 150years of Cathedral School, Mumbai” and most recently a National Bestseller – “Indian Roots Ivy Admits – 101 Essays that got Indian Students into the IVY LEAGUE and STANFORD”.
